Freshman/Sophomore Information

Welcome to my website!

Welcome to 2012.  It is a brand new year and a brand new semester.  We begin a new grading semester.  First semester is over and what is done is done.  If you did not do as well as you wished, make a "New Year's Resolution" to do better.  Keep up your assignments and check your grades periodically. 

If you do not have the information to check your grades online, come by my office and pick up your access information.

EMERGENCY SCHEDULE CHANGES for second semester will be Tuesday, January 10th and Wednesday, January 11th, after school.  No changes will be made until then.  We did schedule changes before the end of 1st semester for 2nd semester, so only emergency changes will be considered.   Most classes are full and few changes will be possible.

Technology Center applications are due.  The application may be picked up in my office.  Get those turned in as soon as possible.

Also remember that I am here for you.  I cannot read minds, even though I wish I could.  If you need me, please come in.

It is never too early to start planning for life after high school.  College is one option.  Although some colleges can be expensive, costs vary from institution to institution.  Fortunately, the cost of attending an Oklahoma state college or university is among the lowest in the nation.

The Oklahoma state legislature came up with a great plan to help Oklahoma students pay for college a few years ago.  Oklahoma's Promise or OHLAP allows students to earn free college tuition if they meet certain academic and conduct requirements in high school.  You must sign up in the eighth, ninth, or 10th grades, and your family's income cannot be more than $50,000 per year at the time you apply.  There are additional financial, academic and conduct requirements to get and keep the scholarship in college. 

Sophomore applications are due by July 12, 2012.  Apply now, if you qualify.  Do not procrastinate.
